Dear Friends, t.Since its conception in 1994 the staff and volunteers at Equessense and our equine partners have been blessed to have been a part of too many life-changing experiences to count. We have seen kids sit up, stand and walk for the first time in

For this reason, program income provides only a portion of the funds needed for operational expenses, not to mention emergencies, maintenance, improvements, and expansion in order to help even more people. We have helped language-impaired kids develop communication skills; victims of child-abuse emancipate repressed memories to begin healing from early childhood trauma. The horses teach emotionally disturbed individuals to control their temper and express their feelings appropriately. Kids with behavior disorders learn discipline from these natural behaviorists. These heroic animals have even been known to bring our riders back from the depths of utter despair to change their mind about committing suicide. The mission of the program is to provide the therapeutic benefits of experiential riding to as many people as possible in a safe, comfortable, efficient environment at a cost that would exclude no one.
